About Sabine

Sabine has been deeply influenced by a variety of environments, and the act of shaping them on canvas gives her a kind of grounding. In her work, the forms of the perceived world are always disputing identity and knowledge of self. A continual longing for spiritual orientation and a sense of personal, familial and cultural history live in the colors, lines, figures and contrasts that belong together but can hardly be taken in all at once. Her subjects – whether landscapes or figures – are moments in the deeper, shifting process of uncovering which comprises her painting.
